Number your days
Where has our sense of urgency gone? Why are we living as if our lives on earth are endless?
We know that we will all die, but yet we live as if that day was never approaching.
I came to the realization, this morning. In the past few weeks, I have been praying for boldness and drive, like Paul’s to share the gospel.
I finally was able to see that my issue was not only the fact that I’m not bold enough, but that I don’t have a sense of urgency to share the gospel.
But that all changed when My father came and told me that he was preparing for the burial of my grandmother because she would soon die. And it blew me in the face to know that I haven’t had the urgency to boldly share the gospel with everyone, thinking that I might have a chance tomorrow.
I realized tomorrow might never come for someone or even me. Like in the case of my grandmother. I
f it wasn’t for the fact that I knew that her death was approaching, I wouldn’t have taken a flight to share the gospel with her. Which draws me to the fact that we take for granted the opportunities God puts before us to share the gospel.
We need a change in perception, and be wise as Solomon and number our days, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”(Psalm 90:12; NIV)
Let’s live boldly for the Lord, deny our self for the expansion of the Kingdom, and living with the knowledge that our days are few, that we all are called to make disciples and serve the Lord.
Let us Live for the Lord and make Him be known to others every day of our lives. Share the beautiful gift of Salvation and give others the opportunity to be intimate with the Creator of this Universe.
Let us not be selfish by not sharing the knowledge of the gospel with others, who are equally loved by Christ. Let us remember the words of Jim Daily that we don’t have the authority to choose with whom to share the gospel.
Jesus died on that cross for every single human being, no matter their background, social status, race or what they have done. And He specifically called us to be diligent in sharing this great message, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19, NIV)
Application:
- Join me by daily sharing the gift of salvation for we never know when our time may be up. May our days on earth be wisely spent.
Power verses:
- “And then he told them, Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” (Matthew 16:15; NLT)
- “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” (Psalm 96:3; NIV)
