A Thank You Letter
The word “thank you” cannot express my feelings towards Your amazing and loving sacrifice for all humanity. Father, You are a just God, for this reason our sins needed to be paid, you chose, out of LOVE, to sent your only begotten Son, Jesus, He came to Earth, a place striken by sin and ungodliness, so that your son would endure pain, rejection, and persecution by His own people. Not only that, but to endure a physical and excrutiating pain as your Son was whipped with chains, wore a crown of thorns that pierced his skull, and his nerves were pinched by nails on a cross like a common thief.
Jesus you endured such a violent blood sacrifice, for us your undeserving creation. It was our sin, our iniquity that pierced you to that cross. Thank you for such an undeserved act of love toward us! Thank you Jesus, that you submitted to your Father’s will, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done”(Luke 22:42). Thank you for enduring the pain and mental anguish of being separated from the Presence of Your Holy Father, as you were punished for our sins. As I read the words you spoke, “At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” Salty drops of water flowed like a river stream through my cheeks. Knowing how much that broke your heart, to be apart, for the first time, from the Presence of the Almighty God. Jesus, you didn’t have to do this, you didn’t have to offer yourself as a blood sacrifice, we deserve that punishment, not you Jesus! Yet you chose to obey and fulfill God’s prophecy, for that, I am eternally thankful.
He was despised and rejected
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.Isaiah 53: 3-6 |
“But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” And Jesus replied,“I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:40-43)
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?
But even if that were possible,
I would not forget you! See, I have written your
name on the palms of my hands.
Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins.
Even if my mother felt no love for me, you Jesus feel such an amazing love to the point of dying on a cross. So that I would be able to bridge the gap my sin had created between us, and be able to enjoy communion with the Father. So that I would spend eternity with the One that loves me like no human can ever love me, to meet the One that has my name written on the palm of His hands. The same hands that were pierced by nails on a cross for love. I know that nothing can ever separate me from your love and for this reason I will sing and rejoice for your love is forever; Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-38Holy God, Jesus, Holy Spirit I thank you all for the undeserved love you graciously gifted humanity. Thank you for the cross, for enduring that horrible pain, for carrying our sins for us, and making us white as snow. You are great, Holy, Majestic, like no other. In Jesus name I pray. AmenI love you
