Amidst the Storm, Praise!
As you all may know, Puerto Rico went through a category four hurricane, which devastated the whole island. I cannot describe its horrendous sound trying to get into the house, dancing with the mango tree, and relinquishing my little lemon tree out of its leaves.I have lived through many storms and hurricanes in P.R. but none like this one. Hurricane Maria will be forever branded in our souls. It has destroyed our economy, our crops, our livelihood, and our jobs.
But 33 days after the storm all I can do is praise. During the storm my anxiety was high, but I felt it fighting with an incredible peace that surrounded me and that peace simmered down all those bad feelings trying to take control of me.
Reading Psalms 100 reminded me that God is in control and if I give my anxieties to Him, He will turn them into joy, gladness, and love.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his;we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name. For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100
The reconstruction of the devastation of the island will be hard, but I have the King of Kings by my side, providing that peace and calmness much needed at this moment. If your trouble is as big as hurricane Maria, rest in peace, pray and worship the Lord. Bend your knees for at least one minute and give thanks. Rest assured that if you confess that Jesus is Lord and that He was resurrected from the dead you will be saved and the Lord will make sure that nothing can damage you.
Amidst your storm praise and pray for peace in your heart and ask Jesus to guide you through it.
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10: 9-10
