Fill my cup
Hymn Monday is back, after an extended vacation!
I’m so excited to share with you the hymn of the day, “Fill my cup” by Richard Blanchard. It expresses vividly my prayer for the day, a prayer that I hope you will make your own.
Fill My Cup
Like the woman at the well I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy;
And then I heard my Savior speaking:
“Draw from my well that never shall run dry”.
Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up, Lord!
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul;
Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!
There are millions in this world who are craving
The pleasures earthly things afford;
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up, Lord!
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul;
Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!
So, my neighbor, if the things this world gave you
Leave hungers that won’t pass away,
My blessed Lord will come and save you,
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray:
Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up, Lord!
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul;
Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!
May God fill your cup and fill you with joy this day!
Prayer: Mighty Savior, Thank you for the life you so graciously give us day by day. I humbly ask for You to empty my cup, filled with disappointment, weariness, discouragement, pain, heartache, and sin. For Your son to wash my cup with His blood and for the Holy Spirit to overflow me with joy and strength. I pray that you would empower and comfort today those that are reading and satisfy their souls. In your Holy Name I pray, Amen.
