I Surrender All

Welcome to the club: My way or God’s way!

My husband and I initiated our membership to the club about a year ago. Let me tell you, it hasn’t gotten any easier to let go of our plans to follow the path God has laid before us. Judson Van DeVenter’s, author of the hymn “I Surrender All”  was also a member of this club…

As a matter of fact what inspired these lyrics in Judson’s heart was a five year struggle, between his successful career teaching art and doing God’s will, becoming a full time evangelist.

“For some time, I had struggled between developing my talents in the field of art and going into full-time evangelistic work. At last the pivotal hour of my life came , and I surrendered all. A new day was ushered into my life. I became an evangelist and discovered down deep in my soul a talent hitherto unknown to me. God had hidden a song in my heart, and touching a tender chord, He caused me to sing.” Judson Van DeVender 

I Surrender All was birth, after surrendering everything he worked for to acomplish God’s perfect will for his life. He laid down his wordily pleasures and his love for art and teaching; To give himself completely to the work of the Kingdom, preaching the gospel and leading many in worship.

Let this testimony be an encouragement for us not to give up in our struggle to lay down our plans, to pursue our Savior’s.  May it be done as an act of worship and thankfulness for the biggest sacrifice ever done for humanity, the death of His son Jesus, to save us.

Be strong friend, please don’t give up!
