Without Hope
This past week I lost all hope, and you know what people say when that happens, “hope is the last thing you loose.” You see, I couldn’t hear God. All I heard was a deep and numbing silence, a silence that can make you deaf. During that week I needed God the most, I was desperate like David when he wrote Psalms 143. I felt that sin literally separated me from God and that He had turned his face from me; just like He did with Jesus when He carried all our sins at the cross. In Psalms 143, David expressed his loss for hope, a fear that paralyzed him and a depression deep within. But In all that cluster of feelings, David still had enough strength to raise his hands to worship God and prayed:
“Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning.” Psalm 143:8 ;NLT
Just like him, depression peeked its claws at the corner of my eyes and I raised my hands in worship. Let me tell you that I cried my eyes out, but as tears flowed through my skin, a cleansing of my heart and soul was happening. I felt His unfailing love while He restored my hope. You know nothing big happened; None of my promises were materializing, I didn’t see angels up and down like Jacob. Neither did I see a burning bush like Moses. I just felt hope come back again. Like David’s prayer in verse 11: “…because of your faithfulness” is that my hope came to be restored again.I am with you, my friend, I understand what you are going through. I was in the same path of destruction, but if you only hear God’s silence, be certain that He is molding you. Just pray like David.Application:
